Profile of the College Vice-Principal

Eld. Dr. Patrick Atta Poku Jnr.  had his basic education at Seventh-day Adventist Primary (1984-1990), and Junior High Schools (1991-1993) at Goaso in the Ahafo Region and Techiman in the Bono East Region respectively. He had his secondary education at Opoku Ware Secondary School, Kumasi (1993-1996), in the Ashanti Region where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE).

He had his teacher training education at St. John Bosco’s training college, Navrongo (1998-2000) in the Upper East Region. He further studied at the University of Education, Winneba, from where he obtained the degrees: B. ED. (Hons.) Agriculture (2007), Master of Philosophy, specializing in Animal Science (Animal Production and Management) (2011). Dr. Patrick Atta Poku Jnr. pursued Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Animal Science (Animal Production and Management) (2021) at the same University. He obtained a Certificate in Online Design, Teaching and Learning from the Digital Society School, Amsterdam University of Applied Science (2020). He has obtained Certificates in the following courses: Project Management in Global Health (2021), Leadership and Management in Health (2021), Fundamentals of Global Health Research (2021), Introduction to Epidemiology for Global Health (2022), Monitoring and Evaluation in Global Health (2022), Wellbeing for Healthcare Professionals (2022), Clinical Management of HIV/AIDS (2022),  Economic Evaluation in Global Health (2022), Global Mental Health (2022) and Policy Development and Advocacy for Global Health (2022) from the Department of Public Health, School of Public Health, University of Washington (UW), Seattle, United States of America (USA). He served as a National Service Personnel (2007-2008) at the Department of Science, Adu Gyamfi Senior High School, Jamasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana.

He is currently the Vice Principal of the Seventh-day Adventist College of Education, Agona-Ashanti affiliated to University of Cape Coast. He is the chair to many committees. He is a science educator and has more than twenty-two years of professional experience in teaching and research both at the secondary and tertiary levels of education in Ghana. He has rich experience in collaborative research. He has authored/co-authored twelve (12) original research articles, one (1) review article in twelve (12) different high impact factor peer reviewed journals with three (3) publication certificates to his credit. He is a church elder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, proficient public speaker and an astute master trainer in Leadership, Management and Global Health, Coach and School Improvement Advisor (SIA) and has trained more than two hundred (200) Senior High / Technical School Managers across the country.
