Seventh-day Adventist College of Education (SDACOE) is a public educational institution in Ghana that focuses on training teachers. Since its establishment, the College has contributed immensely to the development of the nation and the world at large. The quest to rise to its managerial and organizational structure caused the demarcation of the four respective halls, namely; A.K Yeboah Amoako, P.O Atakorah, Kwanin Boakye, and M.K Addai.
A.K YEBOAH AMOAKO HALL was named after an astute Adventist Pastor (former President, of Central Ghana Conference of SDA), ANTHONY KWABENA YEBOAH AMOAKO. The hall has a notable slogan “The Visionaries”. A good vision coupled with hard work propels an individual or organization to the highest level and that has been the mark of the hall. The entire College community has seen the true and positive impact of this slogan. The hall has seen rapid growth as a result of the support, good guidance and management of hall wardens, Ms. Naomi Donkor and Mr. Khalid Attah- Osei. Rexford Boateng Kwarteng and Grace Mensah are the current presidents of the males’ and females’ halls respectively with assistance from other executives.
Achievements of the hall in terms of nurturing student leaders, academic excellence, and co-curricular activities have been tremendous. The hall has produced three consecutive Students’ Representative Council Presidents starting from the 2018/2019 academic year to date. Hon. Samuel Tuffuor, popularly known as “Koola” – 2018/2019, Hon. Sarfo Bismark – 2019-2021, and Hon Griffiths Amoateng Gyimah 2022/2023.
To bring this on board, some individuals have also broken through their leadership boundaries to take leadership roles within the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana. Hon. Sarfo Bismark once served Trainees of Ashanti, Bono and Ahafo Region as their General Secretary during the 2020/2021 academic year, followed by Justice Ebenezer Opoku who is currently serving as the Vice President of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana, ASHBA. Despite these achievements, we call on our stakeholders to come to the aid of the hall to address its accommodation and bed challenges.
THE VISIONARIES ALWAYS LEAD
